PROGRAM MISSION AND OBJECTIVE: The Art of Peace and Love School Tour is designed to promote Peace and Love to students throughout the Philadelphia area. The Partners of the Art of Peace School Tour realize that delivering a message of Peace and non-violence to our youth must be delivered by messengers that our youth can identify with and respect in order for the message to be received. The primary objective of Peace and Love is to promote that violence is a choice as Peace is a choice – the goal of the Art of Peace+Love School Tour is to offer students an option to violence. By infusing the power of the words and the spirit of living in Peace it is believed that we can challenge our youth to make better choices. People have the power to save lives and the CHOICE is up to the individual – we want the students in the Philadelphia area to CHOOSE life not death.

THE HISTORY: The tour began in the 2006-2007 school year. The school tour has made stops at Overbrook High School Martin Luther King High School., Daniel Boone, Ivy leaf, C.E.P. Westminster and Hunting Park, Gratz, and Rhodes Young Women’s Leadership School just to name a few. More than 95% of the students at these schools have taken a stand for peace. Each student that takes the Peace and Love Pledge for Peace receives a Peace and Love t-shirt or Peace and Love necklace – so many students took the pledge and desired the Peace and Love shirts and chains it is hard to keep the items in stock. Many students have joined the Peace and Love movement and participate in the school tour regularly.

ARTS and CULTURE meets SOCIAL CHANGE: Peace and Love’s commitment to Social Cause Marketing is manifested at The Art of Peace and Love School Tour. Artists and Poets deliver rap-style skits that skewer the self-destructive behavior that keeps prison doors revolving – guns, drugs, senseless murders, fathering and then abandoning children to the streets. The Poets and Artists of the Art of Peace School Tour answered the call to get involved, save a life and make a difference. Jamica El and Maia Rosser of Empowered through Sound, El Sawyer, Kenny Jones and Serena Saunders of the Village of Arts and Humanities, Fatin and Asia Dantzler of Kindred Family Soul, and Tamarah Ynise, Will Little, Hollywood, Just Greg, and Reeci help Peace and Love deliver a message of social change and social consciousness. These artists and poets volunteer their time and creative energy to save the lives of our children along with the founders of Peace and Love. This committed cast of revved-up rhymers and artists present a traveling urban salvation show that slams home tragic truths with the electricity of a fervent prayer.
