Initially produced to celebrate the Philadelphia Multicultural Affairs Congress’ (MAC) 20th Anniversary, the Global Fusion Festival has become much more than a one-time event. Entering its 3rd year, the Global Fusion Festival is an anticipated showcase of extraordinary talent featuring Philadelphia’s diverse communities. The Global Fusion Festival truly embodies Philadelphia’s dynamic culture and in result, Philadelphia is regarded as a leading multicultural destination.

This years theme is Pangea! For those unaware Pangea was the name given to what scientist’s believe was original placement of the continents when our earth was young.

Philly brings the world together again this summer during Global Fusion Festival and Week, Monday, July 12th –Saturday, July, 17th. This electrifying week of non-stop entertainment themed PANGEA, draws diverse communities together to celebrate the “cultural fusion” of the world. Fusion-inspired events take place across Philadelphia all week, wrapping-up Saturday with a FREE festival featuring big-name performers, ethnic dancers & vendors, and kid’s activities! Bring your heritage along with your appetite and experience Philadelphia’s hottest summer event.

Our Creative Director Anthony Tyrone Howard (and Co-Founder of Fountain Magazine) who designed the Tee had this to say:

When I was a kid I was a geology nut so the metaphor behind GFF’s Pangea theme wasn’t lost to me at all. I think it’s a beautiful concept…about love, and unity and the celebration of life, that meld perfectly with what we’re about at Peace and Love….As far as the style that I’m a big fan of Rah Crawford‘s NPIC style of designing. NPIC has this dope typo-illustrative quality that takes difficult concepts and converts them…through visual language…into a form that everyone can take something from. That’s what I wanted to emulate with this design. So I called him up (it so happens he’s my old chum) and asked him politely to bite his style!

The Peace and Love Youth advisory board are inviting Mayor Michael Nutter, Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey, School District of Philadelphia CEO, Arlene Ackerman, the media, community based organizations, and concerned individuals to sit down and listen to what as a parent, guardian, aunt, uncle, or grandparent you may not want to hear.
