Shut Up and Listen!

The Peace and Love  Council, The Philadelphia Youth Commission, The Philadelphia Youth Poetry Movement, Councilman Curtis Jones, Jr., Lady B of Radio One’s WRNB 107.9 and 100.3 have worked alongside Peace+Love, city officials, school administrators, and community leaders to provide a platform for our youth to have their voices heard.  The youth have shared with Peace+Love that adults and parents often talk more then they listen.  With no disrespect intended youth are inviting parents, school administrators and civic leaders to to sit down, shut up and listen to what as a parent, guardian, aunt, uncle, or grandparent you may not want to hear.

Shut Up and Listen is a phenomenal opportunity to hear what is truly affecting our youth! Attendees are encouraged to attend Shut Up and Listen Town Hall Meetings with an open ear and an open heart.

The Fourth Annual Shut Up and Listen:  Our Youth, Their Voice and Violence and Bridging the Gap touched on critical issues affecting our youth.  Youth planning committee members speak their minds and share the effects of Youth Violence, Flash Mobs, Bullying, Communication, and Self Respect/Self Love.
